Comment:

 I guess there is a high probability that this issue was caused by my weird
 MacPorts setup. I am running 3 MacPorts installations in parallel and have
 another 3 or so hidden.
 dbus is up to now only originating from one of these installations. Could
 be that there was a temporary problem with one of these installations
 leading to an inconsistency there...

 Since it works I am going to close this now.
