Comment(by ryandesign@…):

 Each of the python variants adds --with-python=${prefix} to the configure
 args; this does not seem sufficient to tell the configure script which
 python to use.

 I realize this is copied from the wireshark port, so changes are needed
 there too.

 It looks like the patch you provided in #29968 already fixes this?
