 Thanks, I can reproduce it.  I have the package installed on Lion, but now
 it fails to compile.

 Commenting out all the PROTOCOL_BUFFERS_PYTHON_IMPLEMENTATION=cpp lines in
 the Portfile gets it to compile, but it should continue to work.
