 I noticed that the solution given in  ticket #31054 (for wxwidgets-
 develop) worked for me as well. I had the very same situation as noted in
 the present ticket
 My system is Lion + Xcode 4.2
 try
 sudo port - v install wxwidgets configure.compiler=llvm-gcc-4.2
 hopes this works for you
