 Can you explain more? What steps reproduce the problem? What do we need to
 do to fix it? I don't use oracle so if php5-oracle is broken in some way
 I'll need help from someone who uses oracle to fix it.

 Note that installing php5-oracle will not rebuild apache as you say. It
 will of course install the php5 port if you haven't done so already, and
 that will select its +apache2 variant by default, which will install the
 apache2 port for you if you haven't done so already.
