 Ahh, it seems that it's using the system git to fetch the sources and as I
 have commands specific to the latest upstream git in my .gitconfig things
 are getting confused... Disabling the newer config options allows it too
 succeed but shouldn't MacPorts git be used in preference to the system
 git?
