 Thanks for that, you're right, cleaning and specifying +universal worked
 fine. So in fact this problem arises when using the default variant, not
 the universal one! (I came across it when doing a port upgrade outdated,
 not a specific install of this port…) Could well be the problem you
 describe - so can probably just close this as not-a-bug? Or maybe leave
 open until bug #24779 is fixed to see if that fix fixes this?
