 Failed because it couldn't find gcc-4.2. If you have a fix that would
 allow me to run selfupdate on 10.6.8 and XCode 4.2 I'd love to hear it.
 Since /usr/bin/gcc is gcc 4.2, I thought I'd try the hack I posted and it
 worked. I was dead in the water. The only information I can find on here
 related to this issue is "it works for me - issue closed", or "no it still
 doesnt work" from 4 months ago. This fix worked for me.
