 Looks like py25-gtk, py26-gtk and py27-gtk are capable of producing
 invalid site-packages/gtk-2.0/gtk/_gtk.so files.

 $ file /opt/local/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.0.dylib
 /opt/local/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.0.dylib: ERROR: cannot open
 `/opt/local/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.0.dylib' (No such file or directory)

 I have some variants in etc/variants.conf that may be responisble.
