 Guys

 Please don't do any further investigations, I've had to remove
 kmymoney4-Devel and install Kmymoney 1.0.  I was hoping this would be a
 pain free upgrade but I really do rely on kmymoney for my personal
 finance.

 I'd just like to say thanks for your help and patience.  I'll have to
 install Kmymoney4 in vmwarefusion and try it there.
