Comment:

 You didn't say what version of OS X you're running (though I assume it's
 Leopard or Tiger, based on the fact that your Python was compiled with gcc
 4.0.1), nor whether your CPU is 32-bit or 64-bit. What's the output of the
 following commands?

 sysctl hw.cpu64bit_capable
 port -v installed python27 py27-numpy
 }}}
