 There is also some chance that the syntax used in startx is incorrect –
 this works:

 {{{
         xauth list hier.do.main/unix:0
 }}}

 So it could be that just updates to the script are needed – which I can't
 test right now because the X11 variant of GNU Emacs is compiling...
