 I'm having problems too. I see the same thing but also the following:

 /opt/local/bin/xset:  bad font path element (#8), possible causes are:
     Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
     Directory missing fonts.dir
     Incorrect font server address or syntax
 }}}

 Mac OS X 10.7.3. Xcode 4.3.2.
