 The update to netcdf 4.2 has also caused some problems for me, since it
 appears that netcdfcpp.h is no longer present. This causes some of my own
 configure scripts to break.  I would consider reverting to the old version
 of netcdf (netcdf-devel); however, several of the MacPorts packages that I
 use are now dependent on the current version of netcdf.  At present, I
 think that my only option is to install my own older version of netcdf
 alongside the MacPorts version.  If there's another solution, that would
 be great.
