 Do you already have some form of Qt installed with debug libraries?  e.g.,
 "qt4-mac +debug" would be an obvious choice.  I'm noticing issues
 compiling Qt 4.8.1 when a prior version of Qt is already installed; I
 don't know how much / if this really hurts the new build, but it certainly
 makes things take longer than necessary (which is already quite long).
