Comment:

 This problem is not specific to curl - it is specific to openssl 1.0.1.
 Whether it's "the server's fault" or the library's fault, the problem
 still persists for components that use openssl 1.0.1.  The underlying
 issue is not resolved.

 I see the rt.openssl.org bug link; what is the actual resolution here?  It
 looks like there might be a patch, but AFAICT it hasn't been incorporated
 yet?  I did a port selfupdate just now and openssl isn't regarded as
 outdated.
