 Is it possible this is a duplicate of #34080? See if using MacPorts 2.1.0
 beta 2 helps (whenever that's released), or build manually from the 2.1
 branch. This shouldn't be happening on Snow Leopard or later, unless you
 replaced "tar" with bsdtar.
