Comment:

 "C compiler cannot create executables" usually means Xcode is not
 installed properly. Ensure you've used xcode-select to select your Xcode
 installation, and also that you've installed the command line tools, from
 within Xcode's preferences window's downloads section. Consult MacPorts
 documentation for further information.
