 Trying to install mutt-devel with variants
 +gdbm+gpgme+headercache+imap+pop+sasl+smtp+ssl+trash+xlabel fails:

 by `mutt'.  Stop.
 }}}

 It seems that automake/autoconf did not set variable U, the Makefile
 contains:

 U = @U@
 }}}
