 `py-llvm` is one of the requirements for [https://github.com/numba/numba
 numba]; a port that will be submitted shortly.

 Currently, it relies on Xcode 4.4+, as it requires llvm 3.1 (with
 --enable-pic), rather than the macports llvm-3.1 or clang-3.1.  A simple
 test after install verifies function:
   `$ python -c "import llvm; llvm.test()"`
