 The config.log says:

 clang: warning: not using the clang compiler for the 'powerpc'
 architecture

 This probably means that at some point you upgraded from Leopard or
 earlier and haven't updated your macports.conf file to match. In
 particular your universal_archs setting is incorrect. See wiki:Migration
 for all the things you need to do when you upgrade to a new version of OS
 X.
