 Concerning your patch, when I removed the line for "use_parallel_build", I
 still ened up at "Waiting for $lockfile to be removed".
 When I changed the line to
 {{{
 use_parallel_build          no
 }}}
 the build succeeded, and gimp was subsequently installed.
