 When running {{{xelatex}}} I get

 {{{
 This is XeTeX, Version 3.1415926-2.3-0.9997.5 (TeX Live 2011/MacPorts
 2011_4)
  restricted \write18 enabled.
 (Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
 }}}

 Even running {{{fmtutil-sys --all}}}, which completes without any obvious
 errors, does not help. I found a [https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/28221
 bug report] that says that this might be an incompatibility with zlib
 1.2.6.
