 Thanks. We didn't notice this problem until people started using Xcode
 4.2, on which we default to the clang compiler, which
 [http://lists.macosforge.org/pipermail/macports-
 dev/2011-August/015543.html does not use the CPATH / LIBRARY_PATH
 variables] that would otherwise have told it where to find popt.
