Comment:

 Yes, unfortunately between the time we developed the patch to update the
 port to 3.01, and the time I committed it, a new version of automake
 1.11.2 was released which tesseract does not like. As a workaround for
 now, you could [wiki:howto/InstallingOlderPort downgrade to automake
 1.11.1].
