 Thank you for reporting this, it is nice to know that you could find a
 solution. While it is nice to know the solution to this issue, I doubt it
 should be necessary to run update mime db after each kde install. One
 simple reason is that if it was the case, there should have been far more
 reports about similar issues, while I have knowledge of no others.
