 The php variant of the thrift port depends on the php5 port. New php53 and
 php54 variants should be added to use those newer versions of php. The
 three variants should conflict with one another. The old php variant
 should be removed later, once all ports that need them have php53 and
 php54 variants.

 Or, if possible, all the thrift language bindings should be their own
 subports instead of variants.
