 Clemens, a simpler version of your patch would be to just add
 "merger_arch_compiler yes" to the port. And that does fix the universal
 build for me.

 But if we need to add -arch flags to the compiler when building universal,
 then we surely also need to do it when not building universal, for the
 case of building for a non-default build_arch. In fact all of the ports
 that were updated to use gobject-introspection need this fix too. I'm
 fixing them now.
