 I'll do what you say, as I understand. The schedule is as follows:

 $ Sudo port clean perl5.8

 and then

 $ Sudo port install perl5.8

 The dialogue that I get is:

 Unfortunately the process fails again. I have added above (I'm not sure
 where) the "main.log"
