generic name and there seems to be more than one project by that name.
Oh, great...went to attach it before finishing this, and everything I
wrote is gone. Thanks to the permanent aftermath of my first cancer,
my memory works about as well as my cast net works to hold water, but
I'll try to summarize.
cbb, as far as I can tell, has vanished from the 'net, but it is still
by far the best checkbook program I've seen, especially when compared
to those for MacOS X. Everything I found tonight for links (not what
I found...and didn't bookmark...before) is listed, along with the same
file I attached (cbb0.8.1.tar.gz), an UNOFFICIAL patch (0.8.2), and
an online man page (with all dead links) are posted on one of my two
sites, http://www.jstrack.org. If desired/necessary/asked, I can put
it on my other site, http://jdgapps.org as well. Just ask and it's
there.
Please don't let the fact that it's old, and will probably never have
a new version dissuade you. This is still a great checkbook program.
Note that cbb works with PERL 5 and Tk 8.4.x (which, in turn, requires
Tcl/Tk 8.4.x). After not finding a MacPorts Tcl/Tk 8.4.19, I used
the ActiveTcl 8.4.19 dmg. There was one issue, which I can't
remember (cancer #1 again) that I, not knowing PERL at all, managed
to hack out, where something was on the system, but not found by
cbb. I'm sure that this won't be an issue for those far more familiar
with the Mac than I am, as I only got this about 2 months ago....
Thanks,
