 @ j_mach_wust: Did you have OS X 10.7 with MacPorts 2.1.x (x<2) and XCode
 4.3.y on your Mac before?
 Did you upgrade your Mac to OS X 10.8 from OS X 10.7?

 Perhaps (!!) this is part of the problem....
 (although I deleted all the files / directories of the old MacPorts
 Version)
