Comment:

 Duplicate #31849 requests updating to 1.3.0 and provides
 [http://growl.info/documentation/developer/growl-source-install.php this
 link] with instructions. However, the instructions begin by stating that
 Lion is required to build the latest version from source, so that's
 probably not a good idea to impose on MacPorts users at this time, since
 we still have users using Snow Leopard, Leopard, and Tiger.
