 We have done that in other ports, like ld64. Previously, it has been
 considered bad practice, because the PortIndex file is shared among all OS
 versions, and only the version that's seen by the machine generating the
 PortIndex (which currently runs Snow Leopard) would show up in the output
 of "port info", "port search", etc.
