 As I can reproduce the issue, I assume you opened the file by double-
 clicking on it. In this case, you should have a log in the Mac Console
 (Applications->Utilities) that says that djview cannot open the file. When
 opening from the file menu of the program, a pop-up states exactly the
 same without djview crashing.

 It seems that djview cannot handle UTF-8 characters when opened from the
 Finder. I do not have a solution now, but will take a look at it.
