 magicpoint is not compatible with giflib 4.2.0. It fails to build with
 this error:

   "_PrintGifError", referenced from:
       _gifLoad in libmgpimage.a(gif.o)
 }}}

 PrintGifError is one of the functions the developer of giflib removed in
 version 4.2.0.
