Comment:

 I was not able to reproduce the error. I don't have Lion or a 4-core
 machine; I don't know if those details of the log are relevant.

 But there were a couple things the port was doing that I was not
 comfortable with, that I have fixed in r90626. Please wait 30 minutes,
 then "sudo port selfupdate" and "sudo port clean libmad" and try again.
