 Cleaning and trying again should be the first thing you try anytime any
 port fails to install.

 I think this is a genuine failure. I have done

    sudo port clean p5.12-xml-simple
    sudo port clean p5.12-sax-base

 And neither of them fixed this problem.

 According to the log,

 First of all, "deactivate" doesn't work, because this port is not "active"
 yet.

 Second, it was suggested that I "force" activation; however, won't "force"
 an activation make things even worst?
