 Unfortunately, I have no idea what is causing the problem. Here are things
 you can try:

 Try compiling the port with g++-4.2 (which you should have) instead:

 port clean ipe
 port install ipe configure.compiler=gcc-4.2

 Try compiling ipe from source (outside MacPorts)? Does it work?
