 Interestingly, this only seems to happen with four out of about 75 working
 copies I have sitting around; the others work just fine. I don't know
 what's special about those four...

 Unfortunately, one of them is the project I need to be working on right
 now, so I've reverted to sqlite3 3.7.10 for now. I may be able to take a
 closer look at what's going on tomorrow.
