 The relevant messages in the log seem to be:

 checking for boostlib >= 1.34... yes
 checking whether the Boost::System library is available... yes
 configure: WARNING: BOOST_CPPFLAGS
 checking whether the Boost::Serialization library is available... yes
 configure: error: Could not link against  !

 One might ask: what about BOOST_CPPFLAGS? What could not be linked
 against? Curious.

 It installs fine on my system, which is OS X 10.6.8 with Xcode 3.2.6. That
 suggests perhaps it's a compiler issue, and you could try
 [wiki:ProblemHotlist#compiler using a different compiler] as a workaround.
