 Rev-upgrade does do some of the same, but hdf5-18 is a special case; the
 libraries that the executable wants to link against still exist, but HDF5
 takes the approach of throwing an error (along with information on how to
 set an environment variable to proceed anyway) if the library isn't the
 exact version the executable was compiled with.

 This type of run-time "issue" won't be caught by rev-upgrade, as the
 required .dylib files are there (which is what rev-upgrade checks for, if
 I recall)...
