 A few questions:
  * Has it ever worked? (Or rather, was this an upgrade?)
   * If it worked before, you could try moving/removing ~/.spyder2 to make
 sure there isn't something odd in there.
  * Is there another line to how it failed? It's not listing the actual
 error in the traceback.
  * What is the output of {{{port echo active and rdepof:py27-spyder}}} ?
