#34648: redundant ports: py27-pydot & py27-dot, py26-pydot & py26-dot
------------------------------------------+---------------------------------
 Reporter:  md14-macports@…               |       Owner:  macports-tickets@…
     Type:  defect                        |      Status:  new
 Priority:  Normal                        |   Milestone:
Component:  ports                         |     Version:  2.1.1
 Keywords:                                |        Port:  py-dot, py27-dot, py26-dot, py27-pydot, py26-pydot
------------------------------------------+---------------------------------
 These ports:

 {{{
 py27-dot @1.0.28
 py26-dot @1.0.28
 }}}

 and these ports:

 {{{
 py27-pydot @1.0.25
 py26-pydot @1.0.25
 }}}

 install the same software: the Python `pydot` module from the `pydot`
 project on googlecode.

 On one hand, `py-dot` (`py27-dot`, `py26-dot`) is unified and has a newer
 version number.

 On the other hand, at least to me, the names `py27-pydot` and `py26-pydot`
 are preferable, since the Python module is called `pydot`. Also, the `py26
 -pygraph-dot` and `py26-pebl` ports depend on `py26-pydot`.

 I suggest fixing this by removing the existing `py27-pydot` and
 `py26-pydot` ports and then renaming the `py-dot` port (and its subports)
 to `py-pydot`.
