 I'm not so sure.  I agree that the "Unable to load GdalTools plugin" part
 is a dupe (sorry about that).  But I now have installed (outside of
 MacPorts) a GDAL framework that my macports qgis installation can find.  I
 no longer get that error message on startup, but my database Type list is
 still empty, which makes me think there's another problem, possibly
 unrelated to GDAL.

 I suppose for now I'll watch #36906 and give it another try when that's
 fixed.  If the database list problem persists I'll reopen this.  Thanks
 for your work, Vince!
