Thank you so much! I replace the default rsync server with
rsync://lil.fr.rsync.macports.org/release/ports/, do port clean --all
gnuplot. It works!

What happens if you delete (or backup at some other location) everything
from {{{/opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/gnuplot}}} and try {{{sudo port
-v fetch gnuplot}}}?
