Comment:

 But the proper place is for it to be added to the
 /opt/local/etc/bash_completion.d directory so that

 if [ -f /opt/local/etc/bash_completion ]; then
     . /opt/local/etc/bash_completion
 fi


 works as expected and has previously. Reopening.
