 Here is my hypothesis on the problem (it will take a while to be able to
 reproduce it locally): macports does have py27-matplotlib installed, but
 `python2.7` is pointing to the system python instead which does not have
 it. Can you double-check that you are not using the system python2.7 by
 default?
