 We have configure.cflags-append -DH5_USE_16_API in Portfile.

 I looked at config.log. h5cc calls MacPorts' gcc-mp-4.5. Can your gcc-
 mp-4.5 or h5cc compile hello, world? I have XServe running Snow Leopard
 Server at work it uses the default gcc-4.2 h5cc is just a shell script.
