 When I added the preface "sudo" to the latter command, I now receive the
 following error:


 Error: Unable to upgrade port: couldn't open
 "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_databases_db46/db46/work/.macports.db46.state":
 permission denied
