 I'm having the same problem, but adding the option '-m32' to the compiler
 and linker by
 {{{
 make CFLAGS="-ansi -I. -Iregexp -Wall -W -m32" LDFLAGS="-Lregexp -m32"
 }}}
 solves it for me
